NELSON ACCEPTED INTO MMEA ALL-STATE PROGRAM

Bailey Nelson auditioned to get into the all state band this year. It requires her to learn and play scales at a specific tempo, learn a challenging fast etude, a slow melodic etude, and a solo. Bailey auditioned with “A Trumpeter’s Lullaby” by Leroy Anderson, a classic staple for the trumpeting world. Bailey spent many hours preparing for her audition as well as taking many lessons. This is the first BBE student in recent memory to audition and be accepted.

All-State is a program to develop the finest musicians and leaders among Minnesota's most accomplished high school students. The All-State program supports secondary school music ensembles, MMEA members and members' students.

Rachel Tessier, 5-12 Instrumental Instructor said, “I’m incredibly proud of Bailey for taking on this endeavor. Being granted acceptance into the Minnesota All State Band is no easy feat. Top students from across the state audition for placement, and only a handful are selected.”

Congratulations, Bailey!
